Wahoo!

January 9, 2012 by Anne Tenino

I had a really good evening Saturday. A couple weeks ago I posted about 18% Gray and Whitetail Rock being nominated for some awards at the M/M Romance group on Goodreads. Last night was the awards chat, and I took home a few from it…

And look! Shiny medals have been bestowed upon me and my books! Behold:

Whitetail Rock, 2nd Place, Funniest Quote – Best Lines

In case you’re wondering, it was for this passage in particular:

“Sam. I’ve got news for you. Not every childhood trauma can be healed by finding the right penis.”

Sam looked devastated. He opened and closed his mouth, eyes wide, then suddenly slumped back against the railing, unable to support himself anymore. “You mean,” his voice was barely a whisper. “All those romance novels lied?”

And for 18% Gray:
3rd Place, Best World Created

2nd Place, Best Sci Fi/Futuristic/Apocalyptic

I’m really grateful to everyone who voted for me. It meant so much to me to win these awards. Seriously, I cannot express you how flattered I am, so thank you everyone who voted!

I might have cried when I won them.

Fine, I did. But seriously? Best World Created? Best Lines? These things are really important to me. Not more important than the Sci Fi/Futuristic/Apocalyptic category, but more specific, and things I work hard on when I write.

Have I gushed too much? Sorry, but…seriously flattered and grateful.

And just to let everyone know, I’ve sent Turning Tricks—the sequel to—18% Gray in to Dreamspinner. There is a very good chance it will be out in May.

Oh, and you may have read my estimate of about 20,000 words for Turning Tricks…yeah. I’m verbose. It’s almost 50,000.

Now, back to Sam and Ian, then on to Laslo and Logan.

I would like to share the results of the awards, but I’m going to have to do it later this week (tomorrow, hopefully). Some of my friends won some awards, too. I have to brag about them, too.

But the formatting for that list is a bitch.

Congratulations! I just loved Sam in Whitetail. Poor guy just wants someone to love and love him. Hope his book is in the works! I’d like to read more Sam-isms.

Sam’s book is totally in the works, and it’s tentatively called Too Stupid to Live. It’s going to be hawt, too. I’m about halfway done with it, and I’m hoping to be done with a rough draft in February. I’m really loving it. 🙂

    So well-deserved. Congratulations, Anne.
