My husband says that sometimes—”just a little FYI”—and it happens that one of our daughters absolutely hates the expression, “because you wouldn’t say ‘just a little for your information’!”

So, being the kind of parents we are, we started saying it more frequently. Now I can’t stop, to the point that I titled one of my blog posts that. *sigh*

Whatever. On with the post.

This post is my way of leaving a note so people will know where I am. Tomorrow (March 20th) we’re going on vacation and I’m really freaking excited and I doubt I’ll be checking in on the electronic social circuit. Where are we going? Barcelona and Provence.

Yay!!!

I’ve never been to either place before, and to top it off I’m doing research for a future book, so it’s even more cool. Well, for me. I’m sure the kids will complain when I’m always on the computer. My husband will complain, too, come to think of it. Eh, c’est la vie.

Okay, now you know that, so I’ll be giving you some general news. First, I’m deep in edits for Sweet Young Thang, and L.C. Chase is working on the cover. It looks like she might be using the image I’ve pasted in to the right (click on it to be lead to Rconner’s Deviant Art site—Rconner is the artist who took the picture).

I’m asking LC to change a few things, if possible. I don’t really like the thing around his head, and I’m not a huge fan of his facial hair, because Collin isn’t really a facial hair guy. But overall it’s one of the best matches I’ve ever seen for a cover image. It’s not definite, though, so if the cover comes out with a different image, don’t be shocked.

Next, DABWAHA. Frat Boy and Toppy is a finalist in the GLBT bracket. It’s taken me a while to puzzle out, but it turns out that it works in this totally confusing manner, and what’s happening is that FB&T will be up against The Irregulars from noon to 11:59 (23:59) on March 21. I don’t know what time zone that’s in—I looked at the post and at the FAQ and couldn’t figure it out, but I’m going to say it’s Eastern Daylight Time, which is GMT-4.

Unfortunately, I won’t be around to exhort, bully or bribe all y’all into voting *cough*Barcelona*cough*, so let me say two things on that issue:

Thing the First—Ellen Russell suggested I bribe everyone with a quick short (or coda) about Sebastian and Brad from –> Frat Boy & Toppy. It just so happens there’s a scene in Sweet Young Thang that brings up lots of questions about Sebastian and Brad and their relationship, so I’m currently writing a short for them prompted by the SYT scene. Should you choose to vote for me in DABWAHA, this is your bribe. Should you not choose to vote for me in DABWAHA, this is also your bribe. Should you have no clue what DABWAHA is, yadda yadda yadda.

So, let me repeat, I will be writing a freebie short about Sebastian and Brad, and I imagine it will be out just before or after Sweet Young Thang (which is scheduled to be out July 22).

–> Thing the Second—The Irregulars is an anthology containing stories by a lot of authors I admire, including Josh Lanyon, and I just can’t trash talk them, or even really feel much like winning against them.

–> Thing the Third—(seriously, up above I only thought there’d be two, but surprise!) You, my adoring fans snerk may try gentle persuasion to get others to vote for me, but you should know that I’m very happy to simply have made it to the finals. So go with your conscience, and if I should run into you at AAD or GRL or the supermarket and ask who you voted for, feel free to lie to me if you like. 🙂 Scratch that, I doubt I’d ask. LOL
